What is Answer Engine Optimization, and is it worth paying for?
AEO is the work of getting AI assistants like ChatGPT and Perplexity to cite your business when someone asks a question you can answer. It matters because ChatGPT alone accounts for roughly 87% of AI referral traffic, and that traffic converts several times better than ordinary search. It is worth paying for only if somebody actually measures whether you are being cited — most agencies do not, and cannot.
Isn't SEO mostly a scam?
